Theresian Spirit Keeps Burning

Time flies so fast...Seemingly, we didn't even notice we only have few remaining months to stay in this school especially for us, graduating students. We are only given a few months and we have to bid goodbye to our alma mater and face another challenge in our life, that is, our college life... we feel excited about it but there are two questions that will remain in our hearts.

What lessons have we learned and what values have we imbibed from our Alma Mater? These are two common questions that we are faced with. However, the question is - do we know what answers we are to give to these questions? Or are we even ready to go out of this institution with enough knowledge and experiences gained?

Every student is taught about following the life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph in Nazareth. That is, living a life of humility and simplicity. This is always what STA wants their students to live in their daily life even if they go out of this school. STA wants their students to live a very simple life, to be contented with what they have and to learn to accept each and everyone.

As a Theresian myself, I have likewise learned to apply these virtues. I have learned to be contented with what I have and to be simple in every way I can. STA has not only helped me but other Theresians, as well, to value this code of conduct. STA's presence through the SSJ sisters and teachers helped us in more than one way to be closer to God and to be better and responsible persons. We are really thankful that the SSJ sisters have molded us well and helped us shape our lives in simplicity, humility and goodness.

It is also through the different core values that we have become sensitive to the needs of others especially the less fortunate ones. These values serve as our guide and inspiration to continue living the good values that STA has instilled in us.

And now that the school year has come to an end, we have already stocked a lot of knowledge and values from them. We are very grateful that we have been educated here in STA because we have transformed ourselves. We are taught not just mentally but also spiritually. Our eyes have been opened to the reality that this world needs a change and that we, the youth, should make the change. The change for the better, as we are the country's future leaders.

As we move out from this institution, we, the graduating students of batch 2008-2009, would like to thank the SSJ sisters, staff, students and the STA community for the ideals and the things that you have shared to us. We thank you for the helping hand that you have stretched out for us in times that we needed help. We thank you for the patience even though we make very stupid things that often make you say "you are the most terrible fourth year students. " We admit our mistakes and we want likewise to say sorry for all the things that we have done. We are very lucky that we studied here because we have learned a lot of morale through you. We will never forget the memoirs that we have shared.

As we face life and continue with our journey, we will never forget to look back to where we have started. We will soar high and set forth our wings to the right direction. WE are proud to be called THERESIANS and surely we will keep the THERESIAN spirit burning in our hearts for we believe that once a Theresian, always a Theresian...©
